Evaluation Question 4 - How did you use media technologies in the construction, research, planning and evaluation stages?

Shown below is a powerpoint showing and presenting the different technologies i had used throughout the project. I will also describe how i used them and how they helped me achieve the overall products i had created.

Evaluation Question 3 - What have I learnt from audience feedback?

To gain a variety of different feedback about our video, we had decided to use social media, survey monkey and use responses of class members to gather feedback.

When we used social media (Facebook), we had asked them what they thought and we had mainly received positive feedback. Most of the positive feedback was mainly about the performer and how confident and believable she looked throughout the video.

Even though that many people liked the performance, many others had positives to say about the storyline and how well it was told. Overall, through facebook, people had given positive feedback. One of the negatives about doing this through the medium of social media is that many people may be saying these comments just to be nice, and will not give you the correct feedback as they may also be influenced by another's comment. Seeing as i had gotten my friends to review our work, they may have been biased as they may not want to tell us what the negatives were.

 

Evaluation Question 2 - How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary tasks?

Overall, I think that i was able to combine both ancillary tasks well and i was also able to link both of them back to the music video using the elements of text/fonts and the galaxy pattern.

Evaluation Question 1 - In what ways does your music video, digipak and adverts challenge or develop conventions of real media products?

After changing the song and the story line of our music video, this had affected everything as well. We wanted the magazine and digipak to match our target audience. We had stuck with our initial ideas of the drawings and the black boarder within the overall branding. We had changed a lot during our process as we felt as the song and branding we had originally chose was a little off and it was not working.

Final Screening

Changes we have made along the way.

We have made many changes to our original ideas. Our main change was changing the song from "Mother We Share" by CHVRCHES to "Fantasy" by MSMR which we had soon realised that this song was easier for us. Even though we had a short and limited amount of time, this had made everything easier to change the theme and how everything links back together. As the band we have chosen are indie, this has making the digipak and the magazine advert easier as there was a little bit of a struggle to start off with.

During our filming process, we had decided to also change the storyline of our video from a sister bond to a friendship bond. A way that we had changed this was to show a death of a character during the video. We had used a variety of props to make this more noticeable (such as the dead character giving the main something that represents her so we had used a hair bow)

The majority of the elements we had chosen to keep of the digipak and magazine advert were still mainly inspired by the electronic pop genre even though we had changed our song to the indie pop. When we had received feedback from the initial screening, people had said that they liked the galaxy shots but wanted it to be animated along with more camera shots and angles rather than one which was a mid shot face on.
